Loose photos up to 8 x 11 are scanned for $0.10 each at standard resolution (300 DPI). We also offer 600 DPI scanning at $0.15 each and 1200 DPI scanning at $0.20 each. For most people, standard resolution is the best fit for preserving and sharing photos.
Photos in albums up to 8 x 11 are scanned for $0.20 each at standard resolution, $0.25 each at 600 DPI, and $0.30 each at 1200 DPI.
Hint: You can reduce your cost by removing photos from albums and sorting them into labeled Ziploc bags.
Slides and Negatives
2 x 2 mounted slides and 35 mm negatives are scanned for $0.10 each at standard resolution (3200 DPI). You can also choose 4800 DPI for $0.20 each or 6400 DPI for $0.30 each.
All other slides and negatives, including 110, 126, 127, disc, medium-format, and large-format materials up to 8 x 10, are scanned for $0.35 each at standard resolution (3200 DPI). We also offer 4800 DPI for $0.45 each and 6400 DPI for $0.60 each.
Video Tapes and DVDs
Home movies on VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, Video 8, Digital 8, Hi8, Mini DV, and DVDs can be converted to MP4 files for $5 per tape or DVD.
Please do not include copyrighted videos or videos with explicit content. Copyrighted videos will be returned without being scanned.
Audio Tapes
Audio cassettes, including standard and micro cassettes, can be transferred to MP3 files for $5 per cassette.
No order minimums.
Most orders are completed within 1 to 2 weeks. Orders with large quantities of slides and negatives may take longer. All work is performed in South Carolina.
After you submit your order form, we will email you a secure billing link (billing.southernscan.com). Your card is not charged until the work is complete.
Digital files can be delivered on your own flash drive or external hard drive at no extra cost. We also offer flash drives from $10 to $30 for 32 GB to 256 GB, or DVDs for $2.50 each.
